Rites are Tuesday for Victor Magsamen Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home for Victor F. Magsamen, 54, of 2421/2 West Madison street, who died at 6 a.m. Saturday at Veterans hospital, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient one day. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Simeon Schmitt will officiate, and burial will be in the Decatur cemetery, with military rites at the graveside by the VFW. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services. Born in Pierce, Neb., Aug. 7, 1918, he was a son of Charles and Catherine Haverland-Magsamen, and had resided in Decatur 27 years. Mr. Magsamen was a member of the Catholic church in Pierce, Neb., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Jaralee) Ellinger of Decatur route 4, and Mrs. Robert (Sharon Martz of Decatur; two sons, Michael J. and Steven V. Magsamen, both of Decatur; four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Clara) Preister of Humphrey, Neb., Mrs. Mark (Katherine) Herchenback of Lindsay, Neb., Mrs. Bernadette Koch of Lamont, Ia., and Mrs. Elmer (Eva) Shirley of Wildwood, Fla. Two brothers, Joe Magsamen of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Charles Magsamen of Lincoln, Neb.; and five grandchildren. Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
