Jerome A. Magsamen, 52, of 402 Evans Road, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at University Hospital in Iowa City of diabetes and arteriosclerosis. Born in Humphrey, Nebraska on September 29, 1907, Mr. Magsamen was the son of Charles and Katherine Magsamen. He married Miss Theresa Koch at Petersburg, Nebraska, February 16, 1930. Mr. Magsamen, who had retired from farming in 1956 due to ill health, had resided in Waterloo since 1958. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the St. Nicholas Holy Name Society. He is survived by his widow; four sons, Dr. Benedict Magsamen, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cletus, Turner Air Force Base, Albany, Georgia; and Maurice and Francis at 402 Evans Road; one daughter, Miss Mary Catherine, 402 Evans Road; and 12 brothers and sisters. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Alvin Heuring, pastor of the church, in charge. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be a parish rosary at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
