Eva Jewell Hanks, 91 formerly of Athens, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Anderson County, to Carl and Zora (Holley) Lambright. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. B. Hanks; son, Freddie B. Hanks; seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, W. G. Hanks, of Little Elm; granddaughters, Cyndi Nicholas and husband Adam; and Carla Hanks-Ward and husband Justin; grandsons, David and wife Cindy; Glenn Hanks; and Brant Hanks; 17 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. in the chapel with the Reverend Richard Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery.Services under the direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home.
