James Monroe Rush is the son of Frederick Rush and Mary UKN Rush of Blount Co, Tennessee. He came from Blount Co, Tennessee to Madison Co, Illinois, near Afton, with wife Mary Caylor Rush and purchased a farm. He is the son of Frederick Rush and Mary UKN of Blount Co, Tennessee. James died after a brief illness with pneumonia near Edwardville, close to Afton, Madison Co, Illinois. It is stated he was buried in the Edwardsville Cem. but no stone has been found. Per research, Lusk Cemetery was the earliest cemetery in the area, where early settlers were buried. As such, I am placing James there because at the time, it was the only cemetery in Edwardsville and that is where the records state he was buried, in Edwardsville.
