Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday for Peetz native Bert Fehringer, 58, of Sidney. He died late Friday evening at his home. Albert Victor Fehringer was born April 30, 1932, to Bernard and Anna Elenz Fehringer. Fehringer was raised in Peetz and graduated from Peetz High School in 1951. In 1952 he entered the service and was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska, until 1954. Fehringer served in the U..S. Army reserve until 1960. He married Dorothy Ernest in Sidney on Sept. 14, 1957. He worked at the Sterling sugar factor and O'Connell Construction in Sidney before going to work for KN Energy in 1968. He was a field service with KN at the time of his death. Fehringer was a member of Sidney Elks Lodge, St. Patrick's Athletic Association, Communication Workers of America Local 7476, and Dalton American Legion Post. Hobbies were fishing, hunting and gardening. Survivors include his wife of Sidney, a daughter, Holley Mae Fehringer of Sidney; a son, Martin of Lincoln; two brothers, Henry of luff and Frank of Peetz; seven sisters, Irene Krobe of Arizona, Theresa Koester of Akron, Bernadine Gantt of Keenesburg, Christine Huss, of Keno, Alaska, Amelia Benisch of Davenport, Iowa, Darlene Tyson of Broomfield, and Helen Ellis of Sidney; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Megan.
