Bio

Mrs. Mary Firasek, 90 of Penelope, died Saturday morning, August 14, in a HIllsboro Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Catholic Church of Nativity, Penelope. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the Catholic Church of Nativity, Penelope, with the Rev. Gilbert Barth as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Penelope. Mrs. Firasek was born at Praha and had lived in the Penelope area since 1925. She was a member of the Catholic Church of Nativity in Penelope, the Altar Society and the Penelope KIJZT Society. Survivors include two sons, Ike of Ft. Worth, and Ben of Penelope; one daughter, Mrs. Charles D. (Mary Ann) Fabian of Penelope; two half-brothers, Fred Urbish of Las Vegas, and Lyde Urbish of California; one half-sister, Mrs. Gertrude Svoboda of California; and a step-sister, Lillian Drozd of California. Pallbearers were Gary Beseda, Bobby Beseda, Glenn Fabian, Ronald Osborne, Kenny Lenart, and Benny Firasek. Kotch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
