MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT Frank Eliphaz Washburn and Artie Andrews Vermillion Plain Talk, Vermillion, South Dakota, June 1, 1899 Frank, or as he is more generally known, Bub Washburn, surprised his friends Wednesday by skipping down to Burbank and getting married. The lady he was so fortunate in securing as his companion and helpmate was Miss Artie Andrews. Both have hosts of friends in this city where they have so long resided. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the groom's sister, Mrs. F. H. Maynard, at 6 o'clock, Wednesday evening. OBITUARY: Sioux City Journal, Sioux City, Iowa, July 2, 1947 Frank ("Wash") Washburn, 75, 2819 Second Street, died Tuesday at a hospital after an illness of one day. He had resided in Sioux City since 1904 and he had been employed by the Sioux City Stockyards Co. for 40 years. Mr. Washburn married Artie Andrews in 1899 at Vermillion. She died in 1934. He was a member of Morningside Lodge 615, A.F, & A.M., Sioux City Consistory 5, Abu-Bekr Shrine and Rustin Avenue Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ray Mize, Sioux City, and Mrs. Josephine Frederick, Portland, O.; two sons Roy, Wabun, Minn., and Frank, Lanark, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Harry, Sioux City, and Norman, Meckling, S.D.; and a sister, Mrs. Celia Chaussee, Vermillion. The Ivan Winter funeral home has charge of arrangements.
