MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT: Vermillion Plain Talk, Vermillion, South Dakota, June 1, 1899 *Frank Eliphaz Washburn and Artie Andrews* Frank, or as he is more generally known, Bub Washburn, surprised his friends Wednesday by skipping down to Burbank and getting married. The lady he was so fortunate in securing as his companion and helpmate was Miss Artie Andrews. Both have hosts of friends in this city where they have so long resided. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the groom's sister, Mrs. F. H. Maynard, at 6 o'clock, Wednesday evening. A number of invitations were issued, to which all responded. After the ceremony the evening was pleasantly spent by the company present. OBITUARY: Sioux City Journal, Sioux City, Iowa, November 26, 1934 ~~The funeral services of Mrs. Frank E. Washburn, 55, 2800 Second Street, who died Saturday morning in the family residence, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Rustin Avenue Methodist Church. Rev. F. F. Robinson will officiate and interment will be in Floyd Park Cemetery. Mrs. Washburn had been sick for nearly 10 months with a heart ailment. OBITUARY: 29 November 1934 - Dakota Republican, Vermillion, South Dakota *WIFE OF FORMER VERMILLION MAN BURIED IN SIOUX CITY* ~~Funeral services were held Tuesday in Sioux City for Mrs. Frank Washburn, who died suddenly Saturday following an illness due to heart ailment. Interment was in the Floyd cemetery under the direction of the Memorial funeral home. Frank Washburn was a former resident of Vermillion, moving from here to Sioux City in 1903. Mrs. Washburn was 56 years of age. ~~Mrs. O. W. Chaussee, a sister-in-law of the deceased, was called to Sioux City Saturday but failed to reach there before Mrs. Washburn's death. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Washburn and family and Miss Laura Chaussee drove to Sioux City Tuesday to attend the funeral. ~~Surviving besides the widower and relatives here in Vermillion and other relatives by marriage are two sons, LeRoy and Frank of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Celia Mize and Mrs. Josephine Frederick of Sioux City; a brother Frank Anderson, of Sioux City; and a half brother, S. C. Allensworth of Sioux City.
