Bio

From: "Living, Believing, and Loving", A Family Album by Lahoma LaRue #50851176 Lathan Lofton LaRue, third child of LaRue union, was born August 20, 1913 in Houston County, as all of us were. He was a very energetic and industrious child and grew up to be considered a leader in the family. He stayed single awhile, taking care of Mama and Papa as they had reached the elderly years. Then near the war years, he married Bessie Neruda. Not long after that he entered the Naval Service, and soon he was killed at sea. I recently put a memorial stone in Center Hill Cemetery, near our family graves, in his honor. We never failed to miss him and lots of other people have indicated as much. In school, he was affectionately referred to as "Doc". He and Bessie had no children. I located Bessie and corresponded for a time, then lost touch as we often do. She was a lovable person.
