DARRELL H. LIGHTHILL Guide Rock resident Darrell H. Lighthill, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Merten-Butler Mortuary Chapel in Blue Hill, with the Rev. Carroll Plisek officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service. Mr. Lighthill was born June 2, 1917, in Buffalo County to Herman and Millie (Mizner) Lighthill. He served in the Army from Dec. 22, 1942, to Sept. 26, 1943. He married Margaret M. Baker on Sept. I, 1945, in Smith Center, Kan. She died Nov. 10, 1994. Mr. Lighthill worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hastings from December 1945 until it closed. He lived in Hastings until he moved to Guide Rock one year ago. Mr. Lighthill is survived by two sons; one sister, Goldie Pound of Valentine; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and two sisters.
