Funeral services for Modena "Frankie" Hilton will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Fellowship Methodist Church, Hineston with Brother Danny George officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria. The family requests that visitation be observed at the Church Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Hilton, 97, of Hineston, passed from this life on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Lexington House. Mrs. Hilton was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was the owner of Hilton's Café for 25 years and a Justice of the Peace for over 10 years. Her husband, James Thomas Hilton; parents, John T. and Fronia Johnson Goines; step-son, Herbert Hilton; step-daughter, Verna Hilton Fussell; brothers, Dan Goines and Pete James; sisters, Dorothy Rae Johnson and Leona Clemens; one grandchild and one step-grandchild, preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, William Earl Hilton and wife, Billie Faye; daughter, Margaruette Kanupp and husband, Rusty; brother, Oliver Goines; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Thomas Nash, Shane Hilton, Dale Meylian, Nelon Meylian, Wayne Meylian and Bubba Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Brister, Calvin Johnson and Hubert Melder. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurse's and staff of Lexington House Nursing Home for their care to Mrs. Hilton during her stay there. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 3717 Government Street, Suite 7, Alexandria, LA 71302.
