Gertrude Sutherland Perkins, 83, of DeRidder, La. passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Mrs. Perkins was born in Longville, La. and lived all of her life in the area. She was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Ragley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years and the father of her children, Clarence Sutherland, a daughter, Theresa S. Jones and her husband of 14 years, Luther Perkins. Survivors include one daughter Carly and her husband Lee Perkins of DeRidder; three sisters, Idell Allen of DeQuincy, Marjorie Doyle of DeQuincy, and Wilma Eldridge of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; one brother, Huly Baggett of Longville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
