NOTE: Death Certificate shows birth date of 10 October 1845, death date of 26 Nov 1933, and an age of 89 years... which does NOT add up. (If those dates were correct, he would have only been 88). Family Records, Obituary, and Census records all indicate William's date of birth to be December 1843. Why the Death Certificate is inaccurate is unknown. FORMER TAYLOR MAN PASSES AWAY AT STAMFORD William Schonerstedt, Sr., formerly of this community, died at his home in Stamford Sunday [26 Nov 1933]. He would have celebrated his ninetieth birthday next Sunday [3 Dec 1933]. Mr. Schonerstedt is the father of Mrs. Carl Nehring of this community, the grandfather of William E. Schonerstedt and Miss Margaret Schonerstedt of this city, and has numerous other relatives in Williamson County. He was born in Germany but came to Texas as a young man and was a poineer settler in the Taylor community, having moved from here to Stamford more than thirty years ago. Surviving him are three daughters, Miss Ida Schonerstedt of Spur, Mrs. Paul Roeber of Stamford, and Mrs. Carl Nehring of Taylor; one son, Fred Schonerstedt of Stamford; and a number of grandchildren adn great grandchildren. His wife and two sons, William Schonerstedt, Jr., and Paul Schonerstedt, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at Stamford Tuesday
