Daughter of M E Baldwin and Rebecca Elvie Mahurin. She was wife of Emory Newton Gist. Mrs. Nellie Gist The Bonham Daily Favorite 13 Jan 1940, Page, 2 Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Gist, 52, a sister of M. E. Baldwin of Bonham were held from the Savoy Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in the Savoy Cemetery. Mrs. Gist died at her residence in Ector Wednesday after an illness of four days with pneumonia. She had been in bad health for two years. She was born Oct. 10, 1887 near Savoy, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. M. E. Baldwin. She was a member of the Baptist church. She is survived by her husband, Emery Gist; two sons, Thomas of Bonham, and R. B., student at Burnett Agricultural College, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Beckham of Hagerman and Mrs. Bascom Monroe of Sherman; one sister, Mrs. Grace Durrett of Savoy; one brother, M. E. Baldwin of Bonham, and five grandchildren.
