Bio

"L Brown" is actually Charles Monroe Carlock, son of Martha Jane Mitchell Nelson Carlock and Zacharia Carlock. He was born in Mississippi and was a traveling liquor salesman. He went to jail for selling liquor to his wife's underage brother Sam about 1911. He broke out of prison with several other men Feb 22 1912 and preceded to take his family to Texas and changed his last name to his wife's mother's maiden name "Brown" He used Charlie as his first name and if you will note the headstone L was almost a C.
