Bio
Eugene Novy, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the Ennis Care Center. Eugene was born on June 16, 1930 to Frank and Emily (Galetka) Novy in Crisp, Texas. He married Mary Lou Belha on January 12, 1952 and they made their home in Ennis. He served in the United States Army for two years and returned to civilian life where he worked for Ennis Business Forms. Eugene was a life-long farmer. He was a member of the KJT and St. John Catholic Church. Eugene is survived by two sons: Dale Novy, and his wife, Theresa, and Mark Novy, and his wife, Debbie; one daughter, Judy Strunc, and her husband, Robert; two sisters: Mildred Jordan and Patsy Spaniel; one brother, Danny Novy; eight grandchildren: Angie Ranton, and her husband, Kyle, Amy Barnett, and her husband, Travis, Bobby Strunc, Brittany, Brandon and Brandi Novy, Tyler and Caitlyn Novy; four great-grandchildren: Haylee Strunc, Tristen Barnett, Kylee and Kaleb Ranton. Eugene is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou, his parents, and son, Jeffrey Novy. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Fred Caldwell officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Strunc, Brandon Novy, Tyler Novy, Kyle Ranton, Travis Barnett, Heath Nash, Ethan Cook and Dwain Jakubik.
