From Benson County Farmers Press. The funeral for Lenora e. Hanson, 87, of Devils Lake, formerly of Minnewaukan and Maddock, was held Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Minnewaukan. She died May 28, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake. Rev. Gloria Anderson officiated. Pallbearers were grandchildren Debra Jo Cooper, Lisa M. Nelson, Jens W. and John W. Bell, Donald J. and Jeffrey D. Brown and Tiffany L. Gary M. Jr. and Calvin M. Hanson. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Nancy E. Minyard, Rick L. Brown, Kerriemarie L. and Todd L. Hanson; great-grandchildren Kylie and Brooke Copper, Ashley Dillman, Alaina and Arainne Minyard, Brennan R. Ethan Max, Makensie and Madison Brown and Skylar, Jacob and Meriah Hanson; and great-great-grandsons Kyson Cooper and Jason Chapman. The Gilbertson Funeral Home of Devils Lake was in charge of arrangements. Lenora Evelyn Olson was born March 1, 1916 at Brinsmade to Martin C. and Andrine Ericson Olson. She attended Albert Township School No.2, rural Maddock. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. She worked for a short time in Minneapolis, Minn. and then returned to the Minnewaukan area. She Married Jens C. Hanson Dec. 18, 1934 at Devils Lake. They established their home in the Minnewaukan area and thenin 1948 moved to Devils Lake. Lenora was a cook at the Minnie H School for many years and also at Hanson House 313. from 1966 to 1973 they managed the Moeller Home. He died Feb. 26, 1973 and she returned to Devils Lake. She worked at the Hanson House 313, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos and was an avid reader. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Earl Cooper and Carolyn and Dean Brown of Hannah and Barbara and Luther Bell and Helen and Charles Nelson of Devils Lake; three sons, Gary Hanson and his wife, Nora, of Virginia Beach, Va., Larry R. Hanson of Currituck, NC and David L. Hanson of Tacoma, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Innis of Gresham, Ore. and Edith Togstad and her husband, George, of Maddock. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons, Bruce W. Cooper in 1980 and Kevin D. Cooper in 1987; three sisters, Agnes Olson, Beatrice Solheim and Alma Olson; and five brothers, Benny, Thelmer, Lloyd, Martin and Harold Olson. Supplied by Curtis Yri, #48322430
