John "Ilai" Bean was born to John Egbert and Celia Eunice Ferrell Bean on August 15, 1878 in Houston County, Daly Community. He married Soleta Elizabeth Walling Bean in 1900. They raised their family in Houston County, Grapeland Texas. Their house was on the Old Rock Hill Road, (I believe) The Old Daly Community. They had the following children; 1. Cealy Beatrice b. 1901 2. Cecil Spurgine b. 1903 3. Otho C. b. 1905 4. Ausy Evelyn b. 1907 5. Ivy Weldon b. 1910 6. Elbert Pruit b. 1913 7. Melba Loy b. 1916 8. Theora Elizabeth b. 1919 9. Ineta b. Jun 18, 1921 d. Jul 31, 1921 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Letie Bean, four daughters, Mrs. (Arthur) Cealy Beatrice Bean Willis Steadman of Grapeland, Mrs. Evelyn Pritchett of Houston, Mrs (Joe) Melba Musick of Athens, Mrs. (Travis) Theora Elizabeth Bean Brown of Grapeland; Four sons, Elbert Bean, Ivy Bean, Cecil Spurgine Bean , and Otho C. Bean; Grand-children; Great-grandchildren; Great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Otho C. Bean is buried in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born; Oct 15, 1905, d. Sept 20, 1976, Corpus Christi, Nueces, Tx. Burial unknown. nb
