Dorothy Mae Guill, 79, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dale Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Dot was born May 2, 1930, in Levelland to Virgil and Ruby Bush. Dot married Wayne Guill on Sept. 7, 1946. They were married 55 years at the time of his death on Oct. 13, 2001. Dot and Wayne were members of The Church at Quail Creek for many years. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church. Dot lived in Amarillo for more than 60 years, in that time she went to Amarillo High School. She received her beautician license in 1968 and worked as a beautician for many years. Dot's biggest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Guill; her parents, Virgil and Ruby Bush; a brother, James Bush; a beautiful granddaughter, Dorie Kile; and a wonderful great-grandson, K.W. Savage. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Savage and husband Kenneth and Brenda Kile and husband Stanley, all of Amarillo; three grandsons, Craig Savage and wife Stephanie of Inola, Okla., and Aaron Savage and wife Krissy, Dustin Kile and wife Kelly, all of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Dillan, Kurry, Kamryn and Maci; two uncles, A.C. Spears and O.C Spears; two nieces; and two nephews. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 19, 2009
