Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Vap, Apache, 32 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Horinek Newkirk were held last Thursday morning from the Chaholic church in Apache. The services were directed by the Rev. Fr. Pieretts of Chickasha formerly of Newkirk. Mrs. Francis Hudliege of Chickasha sang and burial was in the Apache cemetery. Mrs. Vap died early Tuesday at an Anadarko hospital following a short serious illness. She was born in Newkirk May 20, 1908, was educated in local schools and was married here to Joe Vap. Later the couple moved to Apache where they made their home the past several years. Her survivors were her parents, her husband, six daughters, Joan 13; Alice 10; Anna Marie 7; Betty 4; Marguerite 2; and Helen Louise five weeks; five sisters Mrs. John Schwemin, Tulsa, Mrs. Elston Coleman and Miss Gertrude Horinek, Newkirk, Mrs. Howard Mooney, San Antonio, and Mrs. Raymond Vap, Kildare and five brothers, Tom, Bernard, Edward, Richard, and Elmer Horinek all of Newkirk. Note - Anna died from an infection after giving birth to Helen Louise. This was 1 year before the invention of penicillin. Contributor: John Voegele (50756397)
