Bio
Rachel was the daughter of Joel & Anne Barnes Brown. She married Nathan Maudlin. They were the parents of 14 children-Anna (Standish), Mark, Lavinia (died young) , Easter (Meredith) , Lucinda (Scott) , Rachel (died young) , Jemima (Stephenson), Joseph, Joel Meredith, Priscilla (Chastain), Edmund, Mary (Elliott), Eunice (Martin), and Nathan Brown. Husband Nathan and several children are buried in the Scott-Maudlin Cemetery in Campbellsburg,Vernon Township, Washington Co., IN. Daughter Lucinda Maudlin and her husband William Franklin Scott, Sr and children Mary Catherine and William Franklin Scott, Jr are also buried in the Scott-Maudlin Cemetery. Daughter Mary Maudlin and her husband Ashael Elliott are buried in the Banks-Standish Cemetery. Rachel's sister, Mary, married Nathan's brother James. Her other sister Nancy married Nathan and James' brother John.
