Bio

Lillian Parma Valek, age 90, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the IOOF Nursing Home. Lillian was born June 3, 1919 in Penelope, Texas to Henry A. and Annie (Darilek) Parma. Lillian moved to Ennis with her family in 1923 and she attended St. John Grammar School. She graduated in 1936 from Ennis High School. On October 23, 1939 she married Frank A. Valek of Ennis and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Past President and Treasurer of St. John School and Mother's Club, Past President of St. John Altar Society, Chairman of Linens at St. John Church for several years, member of KJZT, and delivered Meals on Wheels for several months. Lillian is survived by two sons: Michael H. Valek, and his wife Betty, of Dallas, and Robert J. Valek, and his wife, Nancy, of Ennis; two daughters: Marilyn, and her husband, Terry Corbin of Arlington, Texas, Cynthia Magnani of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren: Kevin Valek and his wife Debbie of Dallas, Lisa Bruni and her husband Mark of Sudbury, Massachusetts, Melissa and Gregory Magnani of Lufkin; six great-grandchildren: Victoria, Ryan and Robert Valek of Dallas, Frank, Sarah and Mark Bruni of Sudbury, Massachusetts; one sister, Del Rita Svoboda of Austin, Texas; one sister-in-law Helene Valek: thirty-four nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Frank on November 23, 1990 after 51 years of marriage; brothers: Henry Parma, Jr., Wesley Parma, George Parma and Gerard Parma; sisters: Edythe Harrison, Annie Patak, Aurelia Quinn and Josephine Patril; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Valek. Visitiation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the Keever Ennis Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Father Garcia as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J. E.
