Wife of James Harvey Hawkins. Daughter of Eli Mart and Eliza Amelia Molesworth. OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, March 1, 1983 HAWKINS Ella May Mart, daughter of Eli and Eliza Mart, was born Jan. 10, 1885 and passed away on February 7, 1983 at the age of 98 years, 27 days. She was united in marriage to James Harvey Hawkins on Jan. 20, 1904. To this union were born nine children. Her husband preceded her in death on April 22, 1932. Also two sons, Herbert Burdette passed away Oct. 21, 1926 and Cecil Clayton passed away May 16, 1971. One daughter Ruth Eloise passed away June 21, 1924. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Bernice Patterson of Ottumwa, Iowa and Lou Ella Stansberry of Nampa, Idaho; four sons, Harold of Russell, Iowa, Delbert of Garnavillo, Iowa, Richard of Wilton, Iowa, and Donald of Coulee Dam, Washington. She also leaves five daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 26 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-gandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. In younger life she was converted to Christ and joined the Wayne U. B. Church and later she moved to Russell and joined the Methodist Church and was a member until her death. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 1983 at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
