Daughter of Augustus Molesworth and Mary Ann Smith OBITUARY THE RUSSELL UNION-TRIBUNE Russell, Iowa Thursday, March 26, 1942 ELIZA McCORMICK LAID TO REST Eliza Amelia Molesworth, daughter of Augustus and Mary Ann Molesworth, was born April 23, 1850 near Zanesville, Ohio and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dave Judd at Chariton, Iowa, on March 22, 1942 at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 1 day. She was one of Iowa's pioneer women, having come with her parents to Iowa from Ohio when she was four years old. She was united in marriage to Eli Mart on November 8, 1869. To this union were born 10 children, of whom two have preceded her in death. Those living are Mrs. Charles Price and Mrs. Ella Hawkins, both of Russell, Mrs. Dave Judd of Chariton, Mrs. E. G. Purper of Superior, Wisc., George E. of Fairfield, Iowa, John E. of Sterling, Colorado, Guy of Denver, Colorado and Bert D. of Alliance, Nebr. Also surviving are one brother of Minneapolis, Minn., 30 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death on April 7, 1892. On Aug. 16, 1917 she was married to George McCormick of Russell, Iowa, who also preceded her in death June, 1927. She was converted in early life and later united with the Methodist Church of Russell, Iowa, of which she has been a consistent and faithful member, always attending services when her health permitted. She was a good Christian woman, a loving mother and had hosts of friends by whom she will be greatly missed. She had expressed her wish to go and was ready to meet her saviour. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. McBlain, were held in the Russell Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Russell cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Brewer, Walter Taylor, Will Conner, Hilton Turbot, Sid Temple and Chris Gardner. A double duet composed of Minnie Mason, Guy Force, A. W. McBlain and Arthur Allen furnished the music accompanied by Stella Johnston at the piano.
