James R. O'Dell, 71, Brookfield, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 1999, at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Rev. Kenneth Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. John Richard was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Silver City, Iowa, son of John and Ola May (Collier) O'Dell. Mr. O'Dell was a refrigeration electrician for Santa Fe Railroad and was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War. Survivors include five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Lorraine Sanders, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Alice and Bennie Hull, Meadville, Frances and Don Smart, San Diego, California, Marge and James Engelhard and Carol and Junior Kearns, Brookfield; one brother, Ernest D. O'Dell, Naperville, Illinois; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Helen Arlene Fox.
