Cook passed away at the Broken Bow hospital at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 12 days. He was born November 3, 1886 near Clay Center, and died April 15, 1968. He was the son of Lewis M. and Clementine Cook. On December 12, 1911 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Pywell at Fairfield, and to this union were born; Rosalie Pracht, Lucille Payne, Clyde Cook and Don Cook all of Broken Bow. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Richard on January 11, 1941, his parents, three brothers, Lester, Lawrence, and Vern. Survivors include his wife Gertrude, his four children; twelve grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews; three brothers, Ivan of Caldwell, Kans.; Glen of Roseville, Calif.; Melvin of Boise, Ida.; two sisters; Bessie Brubaker and Fay Cassell of Boise, Ida., and many friends. He was a kind and loving companion and father and especially loved little children. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Govier Brothers Chapel with I. M. Phillips officiating. Pallbearers were Marvin Payne, Clayton Armstrong, Lyle Foster, Durward Yeadon, Carl Elfgren and Emil Olson. Interment was in the Broken Bow cemetery.
