Bio
Confederate Veteran died in the Texas Confederate Home in Austin Husband of Mattie Power Son of Jno G Power & Jamima N Butler W.J. Power, 89, one of the earliest settlers of Stamford, who died at his home in Austin last Thursday, March 10, was buried in Stamford Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Power had not lived in Stamford for many years, but many of his old friends here were present for the funeral service which was from Kinney Funeral home, conducted by Rev. Joel V. Grimes. Stamford Masonic Lodge, of which Mr. Power was a charter member, had charge of the burial. Body was laid to rest in Highland cemetery beside the grave of his wife, who died 25 years ago. The Stamford American Volume 8, Number 49
