William was the fourth of nine children born to William Jasper Power, b. Aug. 20, 1843 in Cobb County, GA. and d. Mar. 10, 1932 in Austin, Travis, TX. & Martha Ann 'Mattie' Patterson, b. Jan. 17, 1850 in AL. and d. Mar. 27, 1907 in Stamford, Jones County, TX. William and Mattie Power's children were: 1. Mary Alice Power, b. abt. 1872 in TX. She marr. H.S. Abbott. 2. Henry W. Power, b. abt. 1873 in TX. 3. George Walter Power, b. abt. 1875 in TX. 4. William Lester Power, b. Nov. 18, 1879 in TX. and d. Mar. 30, 1952 in Los Angeles county, CA. 5. James Louis Power, b. Dec. 5, 1882 in TX. 6. Neva Lulu Power, b. Apr. 1888 in TX. and d. Mar. 11, 1978 in Austin, TX. She marr. Jesse Cox. 7. Ollie Power, b. Oct. 1891 in TX. She marr. E.L. Tucker. 8.
