Bio
Lillie Mae Nowell, 93, of Laurel, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Memory Chapel with burial in Myrick Cemetery. Dr. Kevin Meador will officiate.She was a homemaker and charter member of Tiger Creek Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman R. Nowell; and three children, Rod Nowell, Cecil Nowell and Ann Miller.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lavon and Marty Nowell of Laurel; one daughter, Estelle Shoemake of Laurel; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Lucy Harper of Decatur.Pallbearers will be Josh Nowell, Darrell Shoemake, Mike Nowell, Jody Miller, Wayne Miller, and Mark Nowell.Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, at Memory Chapel of Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.
