Bio

Private graveside services were held at South Park Cemetery, for Helen Elizabeth Pryor Lenning, 89, of Roswell, who passed away June 12, 2009, at a local nursing home. She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Roswell, to Richard and Lulu McFarland Pryor, of Tinnie-Arabella in the Hondo Valley. Her parents and sisters, Nell Carson and Ruth Stockard, preceded her in death. She was a school teacher at various Roswell schools, until her retirement. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the New Mexico Retired Teachers Association, and was a Southern Baptist. Survivors include a daughter Lynne Strojny of Tucson, Ariz.; and a son Richard Lenning. Also surviving are grandchildren, Elizabeth Daugherty and Karen Strenge of Tucson; and great-grandchildren, Mark, Eric, Jessica, Adam and Seth, all of Tucson. She is also survived by nephews, Michael Carson of Albuquerque, and Douglas Stockard of Roswell. Friends may pay respects online at www.lagronefuneralchapels.com.
