Graveside Memorial Services for Ruth Dovey (Pryor) Stockard are scheduled for 10 a.m, Friday, July 27, 2007, at South Park Cemetery, Roswell. Ms. Stockard, 82, passed away in West Valley, Utah, April 28, 2007. She was born in Roswell, March 22, 1925, to Richard Pryor, from Gallatin, Tenn., and Lula (McFarland) Pryor, from Waldon, Mo. Ms. Stockard was preceded in death by both Earl Pryor, Fernando Pryor and one sister, Nell Carson. Survivors include her son, Douglas J. Stockard, of Roswell; a sister, Helen Lenning, of Roswell; and a brother, John Pryor, of Alamogordo. Ms. Stockard was a teacher for 33 years in Roswell, with a firm, straightforward, no-nonsense system of knowledge and life. My dear mother and our friend will be greatly missed.
