Per Kaufman Herald obit: James Allen "Pete" Tackett went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2009. He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Virginia "Mimi" Tackett. He is survived by his wife Norma; daughters, Becky Stephens and husband Gary, Janice Ward and husband John and Suzanne Phillips and husband David; six grandchildren; sister, Lillian Brock and husband Stanley; brother, Bill Tackett and wife Linda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. The funeral service was Monday, March 25, 2009, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Chapel in Terrell with interment following at the Kaufman Cemetery.
