Aunt Viola married first Horace J Darr and 2nd my dads brother Lawrence Earl Kiggans Sr. Obit Waco Tribune Herald Feb 20, 1982 Mrs. Viola V. Kiggans Mrs. Viola V. Kiggans, 74, of 1808 Old Dallas Road died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Connally-Compton downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Hill. Mrs. Kiggans was born Sept. 2, 1907, in Watt. She lived most of her life in the Waco area. Mrs. Kiggans graduated from Watt High School in 1924 and attended Mary Hardin Baylor University. She married Lawerence E. Kiggans in 1950. Mrs. Kiggans was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs Harold N. (Nancy) Montroy of Fort Worth; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Ruth Bayless, Mrs. Ethel Hopp and Mrs. Lena Morganstern, all of Ohio, two sons, James R. Darr of Waco and Daniel l. Darr Sr. of Belton; four stepsons, Robert L. Kiggans and Samuel Kiggans both of Ohio, Lawerence E. Kiggans Jr. of North Carolina and Douglas K iggans of South Carolina; a sister, Mrs George (Fannie) Menzies of Waco; a brother, Rufus R . (Jack) Michum of Waco; 34 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1808 Old Dallas Road. Aunt Viola made the best Chocolate Pie in the world She is truly missed every day. I used to spend summers with her and her sister Aunt Bea they lived next door to each other. Aunt Viola died from a heart attack due to diabetes for which she had for many years. I could not attend her funeral as I had just had my first baby just 12 days prior and was living in OK at the time. I loved her dearly. Her sister Bertha was my maternal grandmother.
