He was born George M. Slater, the first child of Missourians, Daniel Boone Slater , 1854 and Nannie Elizabeth Bell Slater , 1863 who were married in Ray County, Missouri about 1884. After George's birth, the young family began a migration which took them through Iowa and on to Texas, where they lived in several locations before finally settling in Nolan County, Texas. "Susie" Slater , b:Jan 31,1896, Texas d:Jun 24,1962, Texas 7. Benjamin Vachel Slater , b:Aug 12,1905, Texas d:Mar,1981, Texas Professionally, George became a fireman. In about 1915 he married Marie (unknown), 1899-Texas, and fathered two daughters. He died of pneumonia in 1918. His children were: 1. Waldean Slater, b: 1916 in Texas 2.
