Manena (Inman) Buchholz Obituary Scrapbook, p 53: Eugene Register Guard, Eugene, Lane Co., Ore., Oct. 11, 2000: Thorabel "Sandy" Barton The funeral will be held Oct. 12 for Thorabel "Sandy" Barton of Eugene, who died Oct. 9 of cancer. She was 79. Barton was born Jan. 21, 1921 in North Bend to George and Mapel Smith Crone. A resident of Junction City and Eugene areas most of her life, Barton worked 30 years at Eugene's Flower Home. Her interests included gardening, crafts and traveling. She was a member of the Eugene Moose Lodge. Survivors include her mother of Eugene; a daughter, Joy Nielson, of University Place, Wash.; two sisters, Claribel Spangler and Iris Erickson, both of Eugene; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, Barney Barton, died July 14, 1990. Thursday's service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City. Burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart. __________________________ West-Lane News, Oct. 12, 2000: THORABEL BARTON Thorabel "Sandy" Barton of Eugene died Monday of cancer. She was 79. She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in North Bend to George and Mapel (Smith) Crone. She married Barney Barton who preceded her in death July 14, 1990. She lived in the Junction City-Eugene area most of her life. Barton was a floral designer at Eugene's Flower Home for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and traveling. She was a member of the Eugene Moose Lodge. She is survived by her mother, Mapel Crone of Eugene; a daughter, Joy Neilson of University Place, Wash.; sisters, Claribel Spangler and Iris Erickson, both of Eugene; two grandchildren, Julie Cline of Mansfield, Tex., and Robert Neilson, of Ontario, Calif., and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Murphy-Musgrove Family Mortuary. Burial will be at Rest Lawn. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart, 1121 Fairfield, Eugene, OR 97402.
