Yoakum—Tom A. Jaresh, 77, suffered a fatal heart attack at his home near Alice Monday, December 6, 1965. He was a farmer and rancher and had lived in Alice for 20 years. A native of Sweet Home community, he was a member of the St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church at San Diego. He is survived by his wife, Annie (Wasek) Jaresh, and one sister, Mrs. Teresa Kahanek of Yoakum. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Jaresh, and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. His body was sent to Buffington Funeral Home in Yoakum where rosary was recited Tuesday evening, December 7 by the Rev. Patrick Breen. Wednesday morning, December 8 at 9:30 short services were held at Buffington Funeral Home and Mass was offered at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home at 10 o’clock. Burial was in the Yoakum Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Godfrey Kuratko officiating. Mr. Jaresh’s great nephews, Michael, Tommie and David Robinson served as altar boys at all the services. Pallbearers were George Watzlavick, Thomas Harvan, Eugene Valenta, Eugene Hermes, James Lehman and King Hinnant. Shiner Gazette, Thursday, December 23, 1965
