TEC 3 US Army WWII Technician Third Grade, U.S. Army Medical Detachment, 10th Infantry, 5th Infantry Division Date of Action: WW II Synopsis: Citation Needed: Technician Third Grade Vernon D. Fetterman, United States Army, is reported to have been awarded the Silver Star under the below-listed General Orders for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 5th Infantry Division during World War II. Technician Third Grade Fetterman’s gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
