Bio

WAHOO – Jennie M. Filbrandt, 84, of Wahoo, died Jan. 27 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo. Filbrandt was born to John and Barbara (Weiss) Leitgeb in Wahoo. She attended Catholic school in Wahoo. She married Raymond Filbrandt on Aug. 17, 1940 in Wahoo. She was a long time resident of Saunders County. She worked at the Blue Star Processing Plant in Wahoo before becoming a cook at the Fairview Cafe in Wahoo and Hakels Cafe in Weston. She was an avid bowler and traveled with the Wahoo Eagle's bowling team all over the United States. She was a member of the Wahoo VFW women's auxiliary and the Wahoo Eagle's auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Robert and James Filbrandt; daughter and son-in-law, Rose Ann and Edward Prohaska; five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Betty Filbrandt of Auburn; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Boyles of Wahoo; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Dawn Filbrandt of Wahoo; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Viola McCright of Wahoo; brother-in-law, Larry Filbrandt of La Vista; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Casket bearers are Jeff Filbrandt, Ryan Filbrandt, Chad Filbrandt, Eddie Prohaska, Robbie Prohaska, Jesse Sabatka, Austin Stanfield and Jarad Dettman. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Svoboda Funeral Home of Wahoo is in charge of the arrangements.
