Daughter of: Jacob Peter Coonrod: 1846 – 1898, and Mary Etta Taylor: 1848 – 1923 In addition to those mentioned below, she was also mother of: Mary Beatrice Whitman: Sept. 1904 in Delaware Co.,IA. to 1 Nov. 1904 in Delaware Co.,IA.... AND two sons who seem to have been omitted from the newspaper article below: ** Roy Robert Whitman 1900 – 1999 Floyd Frederick Whitman 1908 – 1969 ************************* Waterloo Daily Courier Waterloo, Iowa November 4, 1946; Manchester, IA. -- Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. at the Gill Funeral Home here for Mrs. Betsy Elizabeth Whitman, 67, a lifetime resident of this community (and widow of the late Peter Whitman) who died here Saturday; burial in Oakland Cemetery here; born near Manchester February 11, 1879, as Betsey Elizabeth Coonrod, and lived on farms in this vicinity with her husband prior to his death; affiliated with the Methodist Church; leaves two daughters, Mrs. Howard Cook and Mrs. Donald Barclay, both of Manchester **; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Coonrod, Manchester; and six sisters, Mrs. Minnie Letts, Graff, Iowa; Mrs. Hannah Taylor, in California; Mrs. Stella Whitman, Manchester; Mrs. Augusta O'Dell, Dubuque; Mrs. Mary Arbegust, Manchester; and Mrs. Grace Watt, Dundee. Interment: Oakland Cemetery.
