Bette Patterson Funeral Services were held 2:30 P.M., Monday, April 10, 1989 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Bette Patterson Bette Lou Patterson, the daughter of William and Florence (Krause) Fries, was born at Ravenna, Nebraska, on February 14, 1929, and passed away at her home in Aurora, Nebraska, after a bout with cancer, at the age of 60 years, 1 month, and 23 days. She was raised near Loup City and Ravenna, and received her 8th grade diploma from Wiggle Creek School, near Ravenna, and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1947. On July 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to LeRoy D. Patterson at Loup City. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1973. After their marriage they lived in Ansley and Loup City, and in 1954, they moved to Aurora. While living in Aurora, Bette worked at the ASCS Office, the Grand Island Ordinance Plant, the Handrup Shoe Store, and managed the North Side Café; she also worked at Bonnavilla Homes and Lippincott Industries, and for the past several years she enjoyed making crafts in her home. Bette was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and also belonged to the V.F.W., American Legion and Cotties' Auxiliaries, (Chuck Hole Auxiliary #4). She was also a member of the Grand Island Eagles Auxiliary, and was an avid bowler and belonged to the Women's International Bowling Congress. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Jeanette Sanders, and a brother Don Fries. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Allen and wife Dee of Lake McConaughey, Bill and wife Pam of Loomis, Bob and wife Mary of Littleton, Colorado; one daughter Patti Stevens and husband Gale of Polk; 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Kara, Mark, Jenny, Leigh, Lisa and Kelli; a sister-in-law Leola Fries of Grand Island; a niece Donna McInnis of Lincoln, a nephew, Dennis Sanders of Grass Valley, California, a very close friend, Glen Wilson of Aurora, and many other relatives and loving friends. Bette was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and loved doing things for other people.
