Bio
Hubert Winchester, 99, Runyon Road, formerly of Buena Vista, widower of Eva Burton Winchester, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 at his residence. Born April 1, 1905 in Wayne County, he was the son of the late John William Winchester and Martha Jane McGowan Winchester. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Ina Marie (Earl) Sherrow of Harrodsburg; one son, Irvin (Peggy) Winchester of Nicholasville; one sister, Ruth Gadberry of Russell Springs; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Willard E. and Leonard Winchester. The funeral will be today, Thursday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster with Rev. Dallas Burton officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven, Gary Lee and Jerry Lee Winchester, Chad Lane, Rick Campbell, Myron Ellis and Jeremy Catlett. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
