Bio

Roy H. Furry, age 64, on Rt. 6, Olney, passed away suddenly this morning at the family residence on Vernor Lake. Services and visitation will be at the Summers Funeral Home, the Rev. Leroy J. Smith will officiate. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Mr. Furry was born near Rinard the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Furry. He had worked for the Inland Steel Company for several years in Hammond, Ind., before moving to Olney. He was married to Evelyn Lawley on Nov. 10, 1968. He had worked in Olney as custodian at the Olney branch of the Floresheim Shoe Co. until his recently retirement. He leaves his wife, Evelyn and three children: Mrs. Carolyn Rae Applegate of Lansing, Mrs. Joyce Jaurey of Griffith, Ind., and Rosa Lee of East Chicago, Ind. There are 10 grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Sylvia Mae Wilson of Flora and Mrs. Nadine Sawyer of Killeen, Texas. Taken from the Olney Daily Mail, Olney, IL, Oct, 1976.
