Daughter of Jacob and Effie (Mehaffey) Huff. Married Fred Herre on December 24, 1908 at the First Christian Church parsonage, Fremont, by Rev. J. H. Fuller. '''''''''''''''' Obituary - Vercia Huff Herre The Fremont Tribune September 21, 1962 Mrs. Fred Herre of Fremont Dies Services for Mrs. Fred (Vercia L) Herre, 75, of 434« North Main Street, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Dubbs officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Herre died Friday morning in an Omaha hospital after being in ill health for the last nine months. Born June 24, 1887 in Kloma, Iowa, Mrs. Herre came to Fremont as a child and had lived here ever since except for a few years in Omaha. She was married in Fremont in 1906 to Fred Herre, who died in 1944. Survivors include two sons, Ted of Fremont and Richard of Glenn Rock, New Jersey, a sister, Mrs. Alta Rice of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a brother, Elmo Huff of California, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
