The Fremont Tribune April 17, 1944 Fred Herre, 58, Dies at his Home Here Funeral services for Christian Frederick Herre, 58, who died at 5 a.m. Monday at his home, 430 N. Park, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Fred Bader funeral home. Rev. Roy C. Leeds of the First Christian church will officiate and burial will be in Ridge cemetery. Mr. Herre had been in apparent good health until 10 p.m. Sunday when he suffered a stroke. He had been in the electrical business for more than 30 years here. Mr. Herre was born in Wisner, September 30, 1885 and came to Fremont with his parents at the age of nine months. He had since resided here, attending the Fremont schools. On December 24, 1908 he was married to Vercia Huff here. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Ted Herre, an electrician in the air forces somewhere in the South pacific and Richard of Omaha; five grandsons and one granddaughter; his mother, Mrs. Mary Herre of Fremont; four brothers, Edward O., George H., and Herbert W., all of Fremont and Jacob of Council Bluffs, Ia., two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Meadows and Mrs. W. E. Pitcock, both of Fremont.
