Bio

Jay Lacy of 415 E. Shepherd, Denison, Texas died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1976, at Madonna Hospital, Denison after an illness of fourteen months. Funeral services were held at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel Honey Grove at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 22, with the Rev. Jerry Pitman officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood Cemetery, Honey Grove, under the direction of Cooper-Sorrels Funeral Home Pallbearers were Hurl Stanford, Rodney Stanford, Dwayne Strickland, Larry Strickland, Curtis Stanford and Bob Clark. Mr. Lacy was born at Celeste, Texas, on June 18, 1913 to John Lacy and Betty Essary Lacy. He was married to Hazel Strickland October 3, 1936 at Vernon. He was a retired painter. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Lacy of Denison; one son, Jimmy Lacy of Denison; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Wigley of Gober; one brother, Fred Lacy, Ft. Smith, Arkansas; one gradson; several nieces and nephews.
