CROXDALE, Jennie GALYEAN -{from Hiwasse} After a lingering illness of many months, Aunt Jennie Croxdale quietly passed away at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24th, 1932. She was 64 years of age and had lived in Hiwasse all her life. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was a consistent and faithful member. She leaves five children, Mrs. Ben Riggens, Toronto, Kansas; Mrs. Una Allen, Miss Nina Croxdale, Rufus and Carmen, Hiwasse; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Edna L. Wells, Gravette; Mrs. Frank Nichols, Hiwasse; Alex Galyean, Hiwasse. There were also eleven grandchildren. Funeral services were held today, Thursday, at Mount Pleasant church.[Benton County Herald - Bentonville, Benton County, Arkansas - August 25, 1932] ************** CROXDALE, Allie V. GALYEAN - Mrs. Allie V. Galyean was born near Hiwasse Jan. 13, 1868 and spent her life here, passing away at her home on Aug. 4, 1932 after 15 months affliction caused by a stroke of paralysis. During all these months the same kind patient disposition was shown which had characterized her entire life. She was married to Joe Croxdale in January 1887. To this union were born seven children. The five who are living are: Mrs. Verna Figgins of Toronto, Kans.; Mrs. Una Allen of Gravette and Nina, Rufus and Carmen of the home. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Vina Wells and Mrs. Ammie Nichols, and a brother, Alex Galyean, eight grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Croxdale was converted many years ago and with her husband united with the Freewill Baptist church and lived a quiet Christian life. Funeral services were held at Mt.
