Bio

From the Frankston Citizen January 19, 1984 Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Collard, 87, of Mabank, relative of several LaRue residents were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday of last week in the Foster and Brown Funeral Home Chapel at Athens, with H. Shirley, Church of Christ minister, officiaiting. Burial was in the New York Community Cemetery in Henderson County, with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Collard expired in an Athens hospital Thursday of last week, following a brief illness. She was born in Henderson County on March 7, 1896 and lived in Athens in her early life and in Mabank since 1968. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Mabank. Survivors are two sons, Elmo Collard of Athens and Royce Collard of Emory; three daughters, Mrs. Syble Hyde of Mabank, Mrs. Lela Simpson of Louisiana, and Mrs. Jettie Goode of Covina, California' one brother, Ray Sholars of LaRue; fifteen grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
