Bio
Alford was born in Heard Co. Georgia to Moses Jones & Martha Mathews. Alford moved to Ala. after his mother died and in 1861 joined the 15th Ala. Inf. Co H CSA. Served in many battles and was captured in 1864 by Union troops and spent a year in a POW prison. After the war he married and moved his family to Texas around 1885 and lived in Erath Co. where his wife passed away. He married two more times then moved to Wichita Co. He fathered at least eleven children and died in 1922 his widowed third wife Lucy being thirty-four yrs. younger than he lived until 1948.
