Della Mae Golka (1928 - 2007) GREELEY, Colo. - Della Mae Golka, 78, of Greeley, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at the North Colorado Medical Center. Born July 15, 1928, at Alliance, Neb., to Mary Marcelline (Mayoue) and Clarence Elmer Stannus, she married Edmund Golka on Nov. 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death. A 1946 graduate of Alliance High School, one of her early jobs was working in Alliance as an office nurse and x-ray technician for Dr. Seng and Dr. Broz. She had also worked part-time with the Lott Real Estate Agency. After moving to a farm near Hamingford, Neb., she was an active member of the school board and then participated with the school district reorganization committee. In 1971, she moved to Greeley where she worked for Roger's Automotive as a bookkeeper. Later, she took a job in the Weld County Department of Social Services in the child support division, where she was employed for 17 years as a legal technician. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Christopher (Linda) Haynes of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Perry of Kingman, Ariz.; granddaughters, Jennifer Haynes of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Rebecca Haynes of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Beth and Ashley Perry of West Unity, Ohio; a grandson, Joshua Perry of Glendale, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Madelyn Boyer of Alliance, Neb.; brother-in-law, Ken Hesse of Greeley, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her parents and sisters. Memorial services will be today at 3 p.m. in the First United Presbyterian Church. Graveside inurnment will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Oregon Trail Cemetery, Bridgeport, Neb. Arrangements are by Allnutt Funeral Service.
