Helen was born to Lorenzo "Rannie" Teater and Esther (Patterson) Teater in Hampton, Calhoun County, Arkansas. Helen was the widow of J. W. Coke. The mother of Michael, Billy, Bobby, and Ruby Nell Coke. The grandmother of Merle Dewayne, Chad, Franklin Scott, Brittany, and Linda Janel Coke. The sister of Leroy and Doyle Teater of Hampton, AR and Virgil (Teater) Williams of Woodruff County AR.
